Sports Psychiatry

Dr Ferguson has a specialist interest in the mental health of athletes and individuals involved in high  performance sport. He is a member of the Sports Psychiatry special interest group of the Royal College of  Psychiatrists.

The combination of high pressure competition, intense training programmes, and for some, periods of injury and rehabilitation means athletes can be at risk of developing mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression. The rates of ADHD are also recognised to be higher in athletes.

Dr Ferguson has experience of helping elite and international sports people with their mental health. He is passionate about offering a safe, discrete and effective intervention for individuals with these unique life  pressures.
